Hi 2S!

Dear 2S,

I miss you all! Mrs. Springmeyer, I can't wait to come back and talk to you about everything here. I love our long conversations about teaching and I have learned so much here. Owen, the name of our hotel is the Westin. It's on the Charles River and it's attached to the convention center, where our meetings are. Mairead, We haven't seen Fenway Park yet, but the stores are filled with Redsox gear. Clyde, Maybe I will get Oscar a Red Sox chew toy...but remember I don't really mind the Red Sox since I'm a METS fan!!! Apurva, I can ask the bus driver if he can stop at Lexington, but I know we are leaving later in the afternoon on Saturday and we want to try and get back. My favorite restaurant was last night's meal. I love lobster and it was delicious! Alexis, The name of the restaurant was called NO NAME. Isn't that funny? I guess they couldn't think of a name for it.

Have fun sharing your dinosaur facts with the kindergarten tomorrow!

I'll see you on Monday!
Mrs. Driscoll

Greetings from Boston!

Hi 2D,

Guess what? I went to see the New England Aquarium today. ( Valentina, I know you asked me about it!) It was awesome! Ms. Smith Willis and Mrs. Ogden were fascinated ( as was I) because there were penguins EVERYWHERE! There was a statue of one outside the aquarium when we first walked in and there were little statues sitting on the benches throughout the aquarium. Next to that was an outdoor tank with seals that were putting on shows for us. ( I think they liked Mrs. Ogden a lot) As soon as we walked in to the aquarium there was a HUGE area where the penguins lived. I thought of you guys the entire time since you are experts on them. They made a great deal of noise. What do you think they say to each other while we are all watching them?

Michael, Bean Town got it's name because
back in colonial days, a favorite Boston food was beans baked in molasses for several hours. Today, Boston baked beans are rare - there are no companies in the city making it and only a few restaurants serve it, but it stuck to its name.
Ben, It took us about 5 hours to get to Boston yesterday. We took a bus. I read my book and listened to some of my music. Melissa, don't worry about your Alaska facts. We can work on them when we get back. John, Osci isn't with me, but I miss him. I still haven't gotten him anything yet. What do you think I should get him? Annie, I got your blog and Maggie's! Brian, I am so glad you learned about quotation marks. I can't wait to read your writing when I get back.

Our conference and meetings today were terrific. I learned a lot of information that I can bring back to the classroom. I am so glad I am here because I think it's important to continue learning just like you guys!

How is school going? I hope you are studying for Spanish! Don't forget tomorrow is a Dress Down Day and you need to bring in your Mind Benders #8. Some of you still need to bring in Mind Benders #7 because Mr. A. is going to go over both of them tomorrow. Tonight is your last night to read Polar Bears Past Bedtime. Did Jack and Annie solve the riddle yet? Can you believe you have already finished the book? I am so proud of all of you.How is Eskimo Boy going? Are you learning a lot about the differences between Norman and you? Can you believe he goes to the dentist in an airplane? That must be pretty cool! Isn't it interesting to learn about a boy who is the same age as you but lives each day very differently than we do in New Jersey? I can't wait to come back and talk with you guys about Norman.

Well, I'm very tired and I want to get a good night sleep for tomorrow. I think of you guys all day long and can't wait to see you on Monday. Be good and have a GREAT day tomorrow.

Miss you tons,
Mrs. Driscoll

I miss you Corey Michael!

Hi Bubba,

Gigi misses you VERY much. You would have loved the aquarium! I know you would have pointed at all of the penguins and say, "Ooh!" and then you would have tried to count them all. There were so many and they made lots of funny noises. I think you would have been a little scared of the shark swimming in the giant fish tank though.

I am so proud of you for trying to sit on Santa's lap. Lots of babies are scared of Santa the first couple of times they see him, but then you will start to realize he's a jolly man who LOVES children and adults. Do you want to come with me when I bring Osci to see him on Sunday? I think Osci is going to wear his reindeer costume that Olivia bought him. You would like it.

Well, I am going to blog my class and Mrs. Springmeyer's class now. I miss you SO SO much and I can't wait to see you on Sunday.

Love you,
Gigi

Bean Town

Dear Mrs. Driscoll:

My dad went to school in Boston and my parents lived there for sometime and really loved it. What is your favorite part so far? My parents loved Fanuel Hall.
I am still up tonight because my fall ball baseball team had a victory party to celebrate the Mets championship victory (my team was called the Mets).
Mr. A has been taking very good care of us but I miss you alot.

By the way, why is it called Bean Town anyway?
Love, Michael

Corey misses Gigi

Gigi...............
Mommy bought me this new outfit today at the mall so that I could look cute with Santa.
There was snow and trees and BIG balls (ornaments) at the mall. I couldn't stop looking at everything.
But Gigi.....(I didn't like Santa)

hi Gigi!

Hi Gigi!

Mommy has been reading me all about your trip to Boston. I hope you are having fun there. We had tacos for dinner tonight, just like your class had them for lunch! Nana even liked them!

I saw Santa today. I didn't like him very much, but mommy said we'll keep going back and visiting with him until I feel comfortable sitting on his lap. Maybe Osci and I can go on Sunday night.

I loved Boston when I went there. The Children's Museum was so much fun. They had an entire room full of TRUCKS! And one with BUBBLES!

I sure miss you , Gigi. I can't wait to see you on Sunday.

Oh, one more thing....Uncle Sean sold his first house today!!!!!! (My house!!!!) We are very proud of him.

Love you, Gigi!

Mrs. Springmeyer loves the aquarium, the children's museum and the Boston Tea Party boat...they are all very close to each other. Let us know if you go to any of them.
